Renewable Energy
The Countrywide Sustainable Energy Policy
Countrywide recognises that it has a role to play in environmental protection and improved sustainability and that the production of renewable energy involves the productive and careful use of the Earth’s natural resources. Countrywide is committed to minimising its impact on the environment and integrating the production of renewable energy with a sense of personal responsibility.
The Countrywide approach recognises the need to balance commercial issues with the environmental benefits deriving from renewable energy projects and we understand that this needs to be demonstrated at both strategic and local levels.
Countywide is committed to the following aims:
• To review company environmental performance on an annual basis.
• To establish rolling targets where appropriate for best practice and specifically to establish energy reduction targets for heating, electricity, transport and waste reduction targets
• To monitor progress towards achieving established best practice.
• To promote the commercialisation and use of renewable energy and renewable fuels both internally within the group and for sale and distribution to the wider community.
• To promote the education and training of employees in renewable energy opportunities, environmental issues and the environmental effects of their activities.
• To maintain good public/community relations.
Countrywide announces renewables partnership
Countrywide has announced a partnership agreement with Treco for the supply of renewable energy product and services to its customers.
As the issue of climate change becomes more and more integrated into every day society, Countrywide is committed to offering its customers a range of renewable energy services to address their needs and those of the environment.
Julie Jones-Ford is Renewables Manager for Countrywide: “We are delighted to be working with Treco in the supply of biomass boilers to our customers. Together we are offering customers not only a greater choice, but a range of superb quality products which will help reduce heating costs significantly,” she explains.
Treco’s James Trebble agrees: “Treco is proud to have the opportunity of working with Countrywide, a company who has the vision and sense of corporate responsibility to have embraced renewable energy and to take it ‘main stream’,” he says. “While the issue of climate change may seem overwhelming, many small changes do contribute to reductions in CO2 emissions. We, with Countywide are both committed to achieving this goal.”
The range of quality machines supplied by Countrywide range from beautiful pellet stoves available in a variety of colours, to agitator hoppered machines which are able to reduce heating costs by more than 50 per cent. The wood pellet stoves are available as room heaters, or as a total heating system with built in boiler and electronic controls, burning at an efficiency of over 90 per cent.
The boilers are very competitively priced, with water systems producing between 20kW to 580kW. Hot air machines are available which are rated at 45kW to 150kW. Both of these ranges are also available with agitator hoppers which allow them to burn various waste products such as chopped rape straw, or other specific energy crops such as miscanthus. A full range of other associated products is also available, such as thermal stores and multi coil hot water cylinders.
